The theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” feels heavy yet necessary, especially now when so much of children’s lives happen online. It reminds us that behind every case of online exploitation is a real child whose dignity and innocence are being stolen. The
theme pushes us to finally confront the reality that abuse in the digital world is just as damaging as abuse in the physical world—sometimes even worse, because the images never truly disappear. It’s a wake-up call for society to stop treating online threats as invisible or harmless.

I appreciate that the government has been strengthening child protection, especially with the passing of Republic Act 11930 or the Anti-OSAEC Law, which directly targets online sexual exploitation. Agencies like the DSWD, DOJ, DICT, and the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking have been working together to track cases, improve reporting mechanisms, and support rescued victims. The Child Protection Compact Partnership between the Philippines and the U.S. also shows that the issue is being taken seriously at both national and international levels. These actions signal that the government recognizes the complexity of online exploitation and is trying to adapt to fast-changing digital dangers.

Still, enforcement remains a challenge. Online exploitation thrives in communities affected by poverty, lack of awareness, and limited digital literacy. Even if laws exist, many families do not understand how
OSAEC operates—sometimes even happening inside households pressured by financial struggles. This shows that protecting children goes beyond passing laws; it requires stronger implementation, community education, and more trained local officers who can respond quickly. Ending OSAEC means working on prevention, strengthening families, and supporting survivors—not just punishing offenders.

Overall, the celebration of National Children’s Month serves as a reminder that child protection is a shared responsibility. The government may build systems and create laws, but communities, schools, and families must also be actively involved. Children deserve to grow in a world—both offline and
online—where their safety and dignity are defended. Fighting for their rights is not just an annual theme; it is a long-term commitment we owe to every Filipino child.

 A Journey Through Sto. Domingo: Where History Meets Nature

As I stepped into the charming town of Sto. Domingo in Ilocos Sur, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. With a population of approximately 29,372 people and a land area of 55.63 square kilometers, this town may be small, but it's packed with a rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural beauty.

My journey began at the St. Dominic Parish Church, a stunning example of Spanish-era architecture that dates back to the early days of the town. The church's imposing bell tower, where Diego Silang once served, stands tall and proud, a testament to the town's enduring faith and heritage. As I explored the church, I was struck by the intricate details and ornate decor that adorn the walls and ceilings.

But Sto. Domingo is more than just a history lesson. The town is also a nature lover's paradise, with its lush landscapes, crystal-clear waterfalls, and natural springs. I was amazed by the beauty of the town's natural attractions, which are perfect for hiking, swimming, and other outdoor activities.

As I explored the town, I was impressed by the thriving community that's full of life and energy. The People's Coliseum, Municipal Plaza, and Public Market are just a few of the many attractions that showcase the town's vibrant culture. And with 37 registered multi-purpose cooperatives, 8 bakeries, 6 computer cafes, and numerous other businesses, it's clear that Sto. Domingo is a town that's going places.

What struck me most about Sto. Domingo, however, was the warmth and hospitality of its people. The townspeople are known for their welcoming nature, making visitors feel like they're part of the family. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or just looking for a relaxing getaway, Sto. Domingo is a destination that's sure to leave you with unforgettable memories.

 This charming town may be small, but it's packed with a rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. If you're looking for a destination that's off the beaten path, Sto. Domingo is definitely worth a visit.

I LEARNED AND I GREW

This quarter in ICT was a game-changer for me. I learned so much about coding, especially HTML variables and web development. I remember spending hours working on projects, trying to get the code just right. Blog posting became a regular thing, and I enjoyed sharing my experiences and showcasing my work.

But it wasn't all smooth sailing. Debugging was a major challenge for me. I'd write code, but it wouldn't work, and I'd get frustrated. Time management was another issue. With multiple projects and deadlines looming, I had to prioritize and stay focused.

To overcome these challenges, I turned to online resources like W3Schools and Mozilla Developer Network. They helped me understand complex concepts and fix my code. I also practiced coding regularly, which improved my skills and confidence. And when I was stuck, I didn't hesitate to ask for help from my instructor or peers.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to build on what I've learned. I want to explore more advanced web development topics and apply my skills to real-world projects. I'm confident that with persistence and practice, I'll become a proficient web developer and create something amazing.

As we celebrate the 2025 Teacher's Month Celebration with the theme "My Teacher, My Hero," I am reminded of the profound impact that teachers have on our lives. They are the guiding lights who illuminate our path, helping us navigate the complexities of life and learning. With their unwavering dedication, patience, and passion, teachers shape not only our minds but also our hearts.

Teachers are more than just educators; they are mentors, role models, and inspirations. They see potential in us, even when we don't see it ourselves. They push us to be our best selves, to strive for excellence, and to never give up on our dreams. As Kiran Sethi, founder of the Ripple Effect, so eloquently puts it, "Teachers are the backbone of a strong education system, and without them, we wouldn't have the thinkers, leaders, and change-makers of tomorrow" (The Ripple Effect).

I remember the teachers who took the time to listen, to encourage, and to believe in me. They made me feel seen, heard, and valued. SCIENCE: TO KNOW LIFE

 The Science Month Celebration has granted us the opportunity to declutter our minds of what “Spatialyze: Surveying societies, sensing solutions” has led us to empower every generation passing—the contests, activities, and preparations throughout this month. I learned a lot from the creative, informative delivery of what this celebration has come down with its purpose.

Science has been everywhere, but the echoes of voices from people, which allowed this celebration to be the root for us to gather our knowledge and ideas about Science. The future holds nothing but the unknown, they quote, but with the help of every bits of fiber with the technology that science provides us, not just your busy cities and communities, but every home in the world.  The innovation that created unbelievable experiments and worth proving theories has powered us to believe in ourselves, or rather, it is really a fact that the world will continue to evolve because of Science and innovation. We gather information about every aspect in life, a wide range of fields and areas that sometimes, a few are aware of. One is medical, whether it be drugs, anesthetics, viruses, treatment, chemicals, and cures—biology and chemistry will gladly be in our hands. Motions, and sometimes we cannot understand how things work, physics explains. Natural phenomena that are wind blowing will strike you that it might be magic, well, it is not, because Earth Science is sure to open your mind to something factual—because science is not just facts, but a bunch of FACTS.  

So science is not only about your atoms, chemical bonding, matter, and elements, but there’s more that the brain cannot fathom so easily in just 16 years of education. We, as a society, coexist with science in our daily lives. Even if we are just breathing, just existing, we are Science itself. As said in the dictionary, Science is a systematic method of acquiring knowledge about the physical and social world through observation and experimentation to understand general truths and fundamental laws, which these laws have been the basis of our life, such as quantum physics, genetics, biotechnology, neuroscience, and many more that we rarely even talk about. 

There’s more to come with better inventions and discoveries that science will be able to conquer. It is only right that we make an effort to appreciate the world around us because life has been made easier, convenience has become the top priority, and science has become the standard. As to why? Worlds and kingdoms will never be conquered without a vague idea about a place you want to be puzzled and be able to create something new—we would’ve been nothing but just land, humans, animals, and nature if Science did not have theories and discoveries that are constantly being researched carefully. And we use these statistical data to evaluate and
create a purpose for ourselves. Science makes the impossible possible so that society will rise to greater heights.

CLIMATE IMPACT

 The Philippines, a proud country formed with islands or so we call an archipelago in Southeast Asia, is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. We face so many threats posing in the environments, but climate change has been one of the general problems to this modern day & age. Rising temperatures, sea-level rise, and extreme weather events have become a new normal, adversely affecting many Filipinos' lives and living

conditions—we learned to adjust to the new surrounding even how toxic it seemed, instead of making a change. The country's geographical location, with its long coastline and tropical climate, makes it prone to natural disasters like typhoons, floods, and droughts. So we are at a disadvantage in terms of these disasters.

One of the predominant reasons for the sudden or progressive change in our environment is that the negative impacts happening around the world like: increasing global temperature, which led to a more frequent and intense weather events. The Philippines has experienced some of the strongest typhoons in recent years, such as Super Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, which devastated the country and left thousands of left deceased people that was shone by the rage of the storm, some even were displaced. Sea-level rise is another major concern, with the country facing the threat of coastal erosion, flooding, and saltwater intrusion into freshwater sources. This has significant implications for the livelihoods of millions of Filipinos who depend on agriculture, fishing, and tourism.

The impacts of climate change are far-reaching, affecting not only the environment but also the economy and human health. Rising temperatures and changing precipitation patterns alter the distribution and abundance of disease vectors, increasing the risk of waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid. Moreover, climate-related stressors contribute to mental health issues, particularly among vulnerable populations like children and women. The economic costs of climate-related disasters are also staggering, with damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism estimated to run into billions of pesos.

Despite these challenges, Filipinos have shown remarkable resilience in the face of climate-related disasters. Community-based disaster risk reduction and management initiatives have been instrumental in promoting climate resilience and adaptation. The government has also launched various programs and policies to address climate change, including the Climate Change Act of 2009, which created the Climate Change Commission to
oversee the country's climate agenda. Filipinos resiliency should be studied because of how patient and strong wielded they are even when a strong typhoon strikes and destroy their homes, crops, and belongings. However, more needs to be done to address the root causes of climate change and to support vulnerable communities in building their resilience to its impacts.

 In conclusion, climate change is a pressing issue that requires immediate attention and action. The Philippines, with its high vulnerability to climate-related disasters, must prioritize climate resilience and adaptation in its development agenda. By working together, Filipinos can build a more resilient future and mitigate the worst impacts of climate change.

INTRAMURALS 2025: It Takes Two to Tango

    The Intramurals 2025 was an experience I'll never forget. It was a whirlwind of excitement, energy, and camaraderie that brought out the best in everyone involved.

It Takes Two to Tango

    I was very thrilled to participate in Dancesports, which pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to dig deep and find my inner rhythm. Tiring as it can be but i it was still fun. The thrill of performing in front of an audience was exhilarating, and the sense of accomplishment I felt after each performance was something that i never anticipated. I met a lot of people and walked through this journey together. 

    The Mr. and Mrs. Intramurals pageant was a highlight of the event, with Jillian S. Bilgera's win being a well-deserved recognition of her talent and hard work. What struck me most was the confidence and poise of the contestants, who truly embodied the spirit of the Intramurals. The creativity they showcased while bringing honor to their strands and respective section was truly amazing. 

To The Goal It Lands

    The basketball tournament was an intense and thrilling competition, with the HUMMS team putting up a remarkable fight. Their teamwork and strategy were impressive, and it was clear that they had put in a lot of effort to perfect their game. 

Pushing Limits

    The boxing matches were electrifying, with each bout showcasing the athletes' skill, agility, and determination. The crowd was on the edge of their seats as the boxers clashed in the ring, each punch and movement a testament to their training and dedication. I didn't understand a thing about their fight but i was truly engrossed with how they showed how amazing they can be. 

    What struck me most about the Intramurals was the sense of community and camaraderie that pervaded every event. It was clear that everyone involved was there to support each other, and the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

    For me, the Intramurals was about more than just competition – it was about growth, learning, and connection. I discovered new talents, built confidence, and developed skills that will stay with me long after the event is over.

    As I look back on the Intramurals 2025, I'm filled with a sense of pride and gratitude. It was an unforgettable experience that I'll always treasure, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it.

Having a clean home should always be one of the top priorities. To achieve a healthier and more peaceful living space. A clean home minimizes health risks and can minimize the danger when a disaster hits, while trees and plants around the home purify the air, reduce stress, and add natural beauty. Indoor plants improve air quality and mood. By balancing cleanliness with the presence of nature, we can create a home environment that's not only aesthetically pleasing but also beneficial for our overall well-being..

Sort It Out

Waste sorting is a simple task at home, but it is an effective practice that goes a long way towards better waste management and environmental sustainability. By separating waste into categories such as recyclable, compostable, and non-recyclable, we can reduce the amount of waste that always ends up in landfills, promote recycling and composting in our daily consumption, and reduce the environmental footprint of our daily activities. This practice not only benefits the environment but also encourages a mindset of responsibility and stewardship of the resources we use and be responsible for them. 

Be There

Since every action matters in preserving our planet, environmental involvement is essential. When individuals, communities, and organizations get involved in environmental efforts like reducing waste, conserving resources, or promoting sustainability, the collective impact can lead to significant positive changes. Assuring cleaner air, water, and surroundings is just one aspect of environmental protection; another is enhancing the quality of life for present and future generations. By taking part in environmental initiatives, we foster a sense of responsibility and connection to the Environment and issues around us which makes us more agile to participate, encouraging more mindful and sustainable living practices.

Engage More

Joining to be a part of an organization that takes part in advocating for the wellness of taking care of the environment is one of the influential ways of helping nature and people. Engaging can be something so simple, but it connects people to help and work hard together to achieve a better place for the future. 

Water The Plants

Watering the plants is a deed that everyone can do in just a few seconds. It means that helping the environment can be done with just a struck of time in involvement to make the world a better place. 

Way to Learning the First Steps

    Throughout the First Quarter in ICT, I’ve encountered a lot of things that made me more capable of widening my horizon about what the internet has made us evolve into the world we are right now. With such fascinating topics that catch your interest, it was a long run, but I learned a lot—not just academically, but also values that I can keep with me.

     I have discovered quite a lot about how the internet was developed and is now proven to have made life easier and advanced—its uses, pioneers, apps developed, etc. Unfortunately, I still encountered a few drawbacks from when I was learning these things during the First Quarter. It seems like I had no or little information or knowledge about these topics and the understanding, fully grasping these ideas in to mind, as it was quite a lot to absorb.

     I admit that it was a bit hard to take this information into account because it had to take a while to not mix up the years that happened here or that. But, it did not take a while to solve and address these problems because I just had to pay attention and study these topics well, and engage myself more in these things with curiosity and enthusiasm to learn, not just for academics, but with agility and passion to know more about interesting facts and information. So, moving on, I will learn more steadfastly and reflect on what I’ve learn and focus.

The theme of the Nutrition Month Celebration 2025 really helps freshen our minds. It's a reminder that having enough safe and nutritious food isn't a privilege – it's a right we all deserve. 

Food security means we can count on having enough to eat. Nutrition security takes it a step further, making sure what we eat gives us the nutrients we need to thrive. We face challenges like poverty, unequal food distribution, and not knowing how to make the most nutritious choices. That's why it's so important for communities, governments, and individuals to take hands and join together to help. By making food and nutrition security a priority, we can build healthier communities where everyone has the chance to be provided with health and care. It's about fairness, health, and allowing everyone to live their life to the fullest. In the end, when we recognize food and nutrition security as a fundamental right, we're not just talking about food – we're talking about people's lives and futures.

In our daily lives, we can start making a difference by being more mindful of our food choices. Like, choosing to support local farmers' markets or community gardens not only helps us eat fresher food but also boosts our local community. Plus, when we learn more about nutrition and share what we know with friends and family, it helps everyone make better choices about what they eat. On a bigger scale, we can get involved in our communities to make sure everyone's needs are met. Whether it's volunteering at a food bank, advocating for policies that help people access healthy food, or just talking about food security with others, every bit counts. It's about realizing we're all part of a bigger picture, and our actions can help make food and nutrition security a reality for everyone.
